EuroEnergy announces the construction of a second solar plant in Romania

08 Apr 2013

EuroEnergy has announced the construction of a second solar plant in Romania with a capacity of 4.3MW.

The EPC was finalised in March and construction has now begun. The plant is co-located with EuroEnergy’s first solar plant, allowing for greater efficiencies and economies of scale during construction and operation. Both projects are anticipated to be connected to the grid and operating by the end of this year.

Combined with its Greek portfolio, the development of its two Romanian plants takes EuroEnergy’s total operating solar capacity to 16.2MW, more than doubling it from the end of 2012.

EuroEnergy is pursuing through its local strategic partnership the development of one more solar plant with a capacity of 10MW. The licensing phase is expected to be completed by the end of the year and construction to begin early in 2014.

EuroEnergy is committed to increasing its presence and investments in the pan-European renewable energy market and contribute to the growth of both national economies and the green economy.
